Each season has its pros and cons for home-buying. And as we head into the winter season, you may be asking, “Should I try and jump in the market this winter?”

Winter is typically the cheapest season to buy a home. But, because there are so few people moving, inventory is low. Sellers are typically very motivated, but you could run into some stiff competition. (It’s good to keep in mind that some sellers even pause listings from Thanksgiving to the new year because they don’t think many people will be buying.)

In the spring, houses are plentiful, but many people are on the hunt – meaning housing prices have the potential to be higher, and bidding wars common.

So to sum it up, there are pros and cons to each, but with the prediction that home prices will continue to rise, it’s worth the look at trying to buy this winter.
