The end of Thanksgiving often signifies the start of the last home decorating milestone of the year – Christmas decorations! Finding new decorating tips every year can both simplify and beautify the process, and allow you to vary the décor from year to year. Our focus here is different uses and display tips to make lights highlight your décor.
- Attaching Christmas lights to railings: lights on railings can be tough; not staying in place or leaving tape residue, there has to be a better way. And there is! Zip ties. Available at your local hardware store, zip ties can secure the lights tightly in place and then can be simply removed with a pair of scissors.
- Tree lights POP: if your Christmas lights look a bit boring, add some WOW by getting 2 different sizes of bulbs.
- Photo light hack: Everyone loves the cute kid Christmas photos…and you can brighten them up with lights! String the lights around the kids for some extra photo bling (just keep an eye on the younger ones to avoid choking or electricity hazards).
- Lights on the mantle: Add some style to your mantle or table decorations by adding a string of lights. Even if you haven’t changed out your decorations, some lights will add a holiday twist to your everyday look.
- Light cleanup: With all these strings of lights in your decorations, you need an easy way to clean up so you aren’t spending 10 hours next year untangling all the lights! Grab the cardboard from all those packages being delivered, and wrap the lights around the cardboard for tangle-free storage.
Happy decorating and may your Christmas season be merry and bright! Thanks for letting us share in your holiday spirit!
