College students are no strangers to microwave pizza. It’s an easy, quick, delicious and cost effective solution to keeping late night hunger at bay. But for 24-year-old full time college student Stefun Darts, microwave pizza was more a way of life than a quick fix. He ate it for months on end – all because of a promise to God.

In the second grade, Stefun promised God he would pay off his grandparents’ house and help them retire – a promise he vowed to never break. His plan? Skip going out with friends and, of course, stock the freezer with microwave pizza. Stefun’s friends will vouch for his absence in the social sphere – but no one knew about his plan.

The covert op didn’t surface until March 20th, when Darts proudly presented his grandparents with a check for $15,000. The admirable grandson – living proof that it’s better to give than receive – financed another four years of monthly on-time payments his grandparents struggled to pay for more than 20 years.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Marilyn Roberts, Stefun’s grandmother said. “To have a grandson like that is truly a blessing.”

But the giving doesn’t stop there. On top of the mortgage payment, Darts also surprised his grandparents with a free trip to the Bahamas. To say Stefun raised the bar for grandma and grandpa brownie points is an understatement. It’s time for grandchildren around the world to step up their game.

“I don’t do this for accolades,” Darts said. “To see tears of joy, to experience that in a lifetime, it’s like how many people can say that?”

God bless, young hero. We commend you.
